Join Louth u3a

Our membership year runs from 1st January to the end of December. Annual Membership of Louth u3a is £15.

However, if you join late in the year (between October and December) you will effectively get up to 15 months membership for the price of 12.

This fee includes access to all Monthly Meetings, all study and activity groups, and a subscription to the u3a magazine called ‘Third Age Matters’.

This annual fee covers the £4 capitation fee paid to the National u3a to cover such things as insurance, media licences, resources, advice, National Conference facilities and workshops. We also pay £2.50 per household to the National Office for the quarterly magazine.

Want to know more before deciding? You can find out more by:

  • Attending a monthly speaker meeting (held at the Methodist Hall, Nichol Hill, Louth, at 2pm on the second Tuesday of each month) as a visitor - please make yourself known at the welcome desk
  • Reading our online monthly newsletter or
  • Viewing our interest group activities online.

Join us by one of the following methods:

Note for New Joiners: Only U3A members may join an Interest Group. The group status may indicate ‘Fully Subscribed’ or ''Waiting List'. If you wish to join about any particular group status, please use the ‘Contact Us’ link. Only through your interest are we able to assess demand and, if we can, review numbers, venue size, etc.

Gift Aid

Louth u3a can reclaim tax on your subscription if you are a UK taxpayer. Your subscription is counted as a gift by the Inland Revenue, at no cost to you. Gift Aid is reclaimed by Louth u3a from the tax you pay for the current tax year.  Your address is needed to identify you as a current UK taxpayer. If you are a UK tax payer, please tick the Gift aid box on the membership application form.

Please notify Louth U3A if you wish to cancel this declaration or if you change your name or home address or no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains.

Emergency contact number

The application form asks for an emergency contact number. We would encourage all members to provide an emergency contact number of someone who is unlikely to be participating in a U3A activity at the same time as yourself. This will only be used in case of emergency during u3a activities (e.g. someone is taken ill, or has an accident).
